WHAT IS SPRAVATO®?
(esketamine nasal spray)

Nurowav will soon be offering Spravato® esketamine nasal spray, the only FDA-approved nasal spray for depression. Spravato® is a more specific form of ketamine designed to treat depression. Ketamine is a drug that’s primarily known for its uses as an anesthetic. You may have also heard of ketamine being used as a psychedelic street drug, but if it’s used under the supervision of a doctor, it can be perfectly safe.
Spravato® was FDA-approved in 2019 for people with depression who have not experienced adequate improvement with antidepressant medications.
Many major insurance companies cover esketamine nasal spray for depression.
A benefit of having treatment at a Nurowav treatment facility is that our team does all the work for you regarding insurance. We assist all patients with the coverage and reimbursement process.
During a Spravato® treatment, you may feel dizzy, or euphoric. Throughout your treatment, our team will be onsite to assist you.
After your two-hour session, you may be groggy and woozy. You will need to avoid hazardous activity for the remainder of the day. This includes operating a motor vehicle, so you will need someone to drive you home from treatment. By the next morning, most people are ready to resume their day with no restrictions.
Spravato® esketamine nasal spray for depression will be offered at select Nurowav treatment centers.
Spravato® must be given at a certified REMS (Risk Evaluation and Mitigation System) center. The medical staff at Nurowav’s certified treatment centers are trained to prescribe, dispense, and administer Spravato®, and we have established processes and procedures in accordance with the REMS program.
